For many years, there was support for an
organization that would allow Future Homemakers of America (FHA/HERO) and
Family, Career & Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) members to stay
involved after high school graduation. After much work by many dedicated
individuals, that dream became a reality July 17, 1998. It was on that
day that the Oklahoma Future Homemakers of America Alumni & Associates was
incorporated by the State of Oklahoma. The organization became Oklahoma
Alumni & Associates of FHA, HERO & FCCLA, Inc. (OAA) after the Oklahoma
Association of FHA/HERO became FCCLA. Since current alumni are former FHA/HERO
and FCCLA members, our name indicates both groups. This page gives a brief overview of
the organization. We hope you like what you see and will want to join.
The purposes for which our organization
was founded are:
 |
To support, promote, and serve Family,
Career & Community Leaders of America and Family and Consumer Sciences
Education at the local, state, and national levels
|
 |
To unite former FHA, HERO & FCCLA members
and others interested in promoting a strong bond between the community and
FCCLA
|
 |
To act as a resource bank to lend
services to local chapters and the state association toward the development
of youth leadership and improvement of personal, family, and community life
|
 |
To raise the visibility and promotion
of FCCLA and Family and Consumer Sciences Education
|
 |
To promote the eight purposes of
FCCLA
|
 |
To cooperate with the Oklahoma
Association of Family, Career & Community Leaders of America and the
national association.
